After a quick breakfast we went to the actual park.

In the end its only really one trail you get to walk up and down after you have been to the main mirador.

The mirador we checked just quickly

and on the trail we went.

After around 5 minutes there was a sloth hanging right above us.

The whole place was covered by these lizards, the smaller they were, the brighter their colors.

Above us there was also monkeys, hard to get pictures of though because these guys are fast!

After 20 minutes or so the jungle clears because of an old magma flow that carved through the forest and we got a nice view of the volcano.

There were also little nifty flowers and berries all over the clearing.

You then take a turn and cut back into the jungle again where we were greeted by our old friends the pizotes.

The way back was more beautiful. All kinds of jungely plants.

Here i found something,

that i will leave open for interpretations..

The BIG highlight was a 400 year old ceiba tree.

More jungle beauty on the way back.

But these guys i almost stumbled over if Lu would not have pointed them out to me. Weird dragon fly libellulas. Also i was talking pictures with my sony FE 70-200mm F2.8 GM lens. Not really the prime lens for marco but it is an incredible tool even for these close shots. I am amazed…

Well worth the trip, we loved every second!
