Jim aint going down without a fight

So the mechanic was useless. He wanted to sell us original parts that he wanted to get send down from Bogotá. For an estimated minimum of 3 million… around 670 euros. But we werent sure with this guy. I did not trust him one bit. There is mechanics and mechanics. Some explain exactly what is wrong. The only thing this guy was able to tell us that he needs original parts , without explaining what he would or would not fix. He knew alot more about breeding roosters for cockfights . He was breeding them in his workshop.

For that alone i didnt like him.

Also in Bogotá we will have all the options. ADAC , a german car insurance thing, will pay for the towing service. So we called our hero from yesterday, Carlos.

It does not matter how dire things looked this morning, all of us are in a good mood again. And Jim is taking a well deserved rest.

Bogotá , here we come again!

UPDATE.

Bogotá, maybe we wont come as soon as we expected….

Lu and i are so tried , we cant even be mad…

Lets see what happens!

——————-

The Sun went down

And Carlos took a taxi to the next town, arrived with a new tier and some mechanics. The problem was solved after around 2 hours.

We went to the same town to fix the broken tires though, in case this happens again.

After around an hours drive we were all so hungry that we had to stop for a chorizo.

By now we know everything about Carlos and he about us. He is also mighty proud to part of El Viaje now, and so are we !

We like Carlos a lot, he is a good guy!

One of the roads was blocked so we stood in the traffic for a while. We got so tired and it is so dark that we decided to take a nap and tackle the rest of the way at sunrise.

We do not know if the mechanic back in Neiva let the door stand open or if we just charged our phones one too many times but Lu just woke me up to get help with tapeing trashbags over our windows before the heavy rain starts. And it will for sure. The battery does not have enough juice to put the windows up.

This is our place for tonight.

We do not pray often but tonight we pray to the glorious god of Bogotá: Please welcome us tomorrow!

We arrived at Bogotá at 11 am. That was a 20h journey that usually would have taken 6-7.

The first mecánico here also tried to rip us off. Lus and my nerves need a break. We parked the car in the car fixing area, got a very nice Airbnb, had a 20 minute shower.

I have never been so happy to be in a city.

Now we DEMAND some FINE DINING!

We will worry about the car later.
