El viaje

Right after the little Town of Cobán there is an Orchid park. Many Orchids grow on trees so the deforestation to plant coffee and cocoa is obviously not the best for them. This dude made its mission to safe all of the species, and founded this park.

You can find over 600 different Orchids here. I will spare you ALL of the pics but i went nuts! So only the highlights. In a way Orchids remind me of my beloved underwater snails. Colors and shapes can be very similar. Enjoy!

They also had really really tiny onces ! I did have my macro lens but did not have the tripod with me. So these were extremely tricky. Some of them are not bigger then 2mm.Steady hand aaaand go.

As you can maybe tell i get really excited when i see colourful and psychedelic stuff like orchids and nudibranchs and guatemala has an unbelievable variety of plants, flowers and vegetation in general. Happy happy but very sweaty camper!
