Since only the early worm catches the silicone i left the hotel at 6.30. I let the other worm sleep. That was a good thing because i skipped most of the morning traffic and was the first one at Skipys.

So instant testing and commotion. A gringo is here!

Analysis: All new silicone. Price : 200 Quetzales. I ll take it. Waiting time ~ 1hour so i could go and check La Terminal.
Mercado La Terminal, Zona 4,( El Príncipe) is a crazy quarter of the city that is basically a market for literally EVERYTHING. Obviously i started from the carpart corner.

Crossing the street , along the old train tracks you have to cross a major road where you see a lot of the Guate Momos. I love these buses!

Then the crazyness starts.

I started by checking the outside stands. And i guess i entered at the wholesale part because you could only buy large amounts of whatever the vegetarian heart desires.

Looking at all the goods i became hungry and wanted a Piña. How many do you want ? Just one ? Now thats crazy, just take it. But tengo effectivo! Doesnt matter chico, just enjoy! So it was Piña and radish and bananas with chiltepe for breakfast. None of which i payed for…They insisted i take them for free. I also had to resist some of the gifts because what the hell do indo whit a 7 kg papaya by myself? The deal was , if i get something for free i wanted a picture in exchange. They all agreed ! 🤝

All in all , i got a Piña, 2 Banans , a bag of fresh Chiltepe, a potential papaya ( biggest i have ever seen), 3 Oranges and two Cacao fruits for free…I cant explain to you how this market works since the last time i checked you have to sell something in order to make money but it sure is great fun to walk around there and smell and hear all of it.

Not being gringo helps. As soon someone finds out you are from Germany, i had to explain why Bayern is not my favorite football team, why carrots are not as huge as here and why Chiltepe is my favorite chilly.
Especially the chilly stands were particularly excited because of my tattoo. I had to try different once, they were mainly impressed of how spicy i can eat but i secretly died inside a couple of times.

Chiltepin is definitely one of my favorite ones if not the, but they call it Chiltepe here. Weirdly enough they only sell the fresh ones. But being at La Terminal there is nothing you can not find. So i endered deeper in the maze.

And what do you know, after around 45 minutes of getting lost but being inside a cloud of mint, spices and fresh fruit and veggie smells i found the sun dried ones. 10 Quetzales for a bag i can never finish… Lu will love them too but i think ill give some to Hugo before she sees the size of the whole bag..

1.5 hours later and i returned to Skipy! All done. 6 months guarantee also. Gracias!

Now i am back at the compressor boys and i am waiting while they run their tests.

I hope Lu feels better and we can leave the city soon. Enough is enough and Antigua is just 1 hour away.
It is only 10.30 so i think we can do it!
