Mompox

After we safely recovered Jim, we immediately headed south. We chose Medellín as our next destination since there are some good friends to visit.

So massiv shout outs to Federico, my secret man crush! The man does not only have one of the biggest hearts on this planet but also is an exquisite connoisseur of very fine music. While being a big fan of Mozart, he also knows the lyrics to “Yo soy il Aventurero” which he ran down for me in detail more than once.

It was him who suggested to stop in Mompox on the way to Antioquia. Thanks Bro!

The change of scenery and vegetation is slower here than further up north. Nevertheless it was a very beautiful ride.

With very intense messages.

The Magdalena river is more like a massiv river delta and we are not sure if the water was higher than usual but there surely was a lot of it.

And a lot of cows everywhere.

And buffaloes

And birds

And cows with birds on top of them

After around 8 hours we got to Santa Cruz de Mompox. There is not too much history here. The town is tiny and established itself because of its proximity to the Magdalena River. It lives of tourism, fishing and kettle.

Its is very quiet and has dreamy colonial character .

Had our selves a quick sausage with lime

and checked into our cheap but very nice hotel.

Evening brewsky while exploring the place further.

We also preferred the messages compared to the one on the road.

We loved it here.

Early night, happy campers!
